NEW DRIVE: 2011 KIA SPORTAGE SX

2011 KIA SPORTAGE SX

2011 KIA SPORTAGE SX

Kia Sportage SX is no substitute for displacement. Ask any man or woman who dined at the muscle cars that Detroit was on duty in the 50 and 60, and they always say that the larger engine available if you want to have some fun. The thing is that tired old axiom is simply not accurate in the modern era. Downsizing is what's for dinner today. Before anyone over 60 has a heart attack, we know the power of war even more alarming are alive and well.

As a result, a replacement for displacement: technology. Some modern computers and hundreds of sensors that feed on them, add some classic turbocharging and sprinkle on the magic relatively new mechanical fuel injection, and you have a tasty recipe for performance. And you do not need a measuring cup cubic inch power to do so.

Look no further proof that Kia. Korean automaker is working to change the image of hard earned money to provide cheap, basic transportation for more than half the two-headed sports conglomerate in Korea, including Hyundai. The SX trim level is a part of this plan, but no later than two vehicles to respond to these letters, only the less is more strategy menu generation. We have already sampled Optima SX turbo direct injection and it was like seconds, now it's time to taste the Kia well received, and an interesting crossover compact Sportage, Turbo taste.

RACE CAR KIA OPTIMA TURBO SX KINETIC

Kia plans to follow Toyota's example in developing an entry in NASCAR? No - at least not what we know. But the Korean automaker showed it has an interest in racing anyway, as you can see in the Kia Optima 2011-SX Turbo built by Kinetic Motorsports seen above.

According to Kia, this racing car was built as a prototype to improve the performance and capabilities of the Optima race. Beyond performance, this machine is valued at the Chicago Auto Show 2011 is certainly more of a credible broker.

Interestingly, the Kia Forte car race, also built by Kia kinetic run, finished second in the Grand-Am race at Daytona a few weeks ago. The Optima to be following suit? Certainly, it would not surprise

2012 New CAR KIA SORENTO SX Review

2011 KIA SORENTO SX

2011 KIA SORENTO SX

Kia is fresh from 2010, exceptionally, where the Korean automaker, sales increased 19 percent over 2009, increasing its market share from 2.9 to 3.1 percent. A major reason Kia did so well in 2010 was the success of the Sorento, which managed 109,000 sales for the year.

Automotive News reports that Kia seems to be increasing in 2011, increasing the total amount given to the society of the third West Point, Georgia plant. Kia Sorento believes that the strongest sales are inevitable, given that the American automobile market is picking up speed. Add the fact that dealers have reportedly asked for more Sorentos for months now, and the increase in production will be uncomplicated.

Kia has not yet announced a start date of third shift of the plant, but distributors say the one who also CUVs Sorento begin to hit stores "in the coming months." Meanwhile, Kia will be looking for additional workers in Georgia, and we believe that the Korean automaker will receive more than enough applications.

2012 Kia Optima 2.0T SX

You should know all about the excellent new turbocharged, direct-injection four-cylinder engine from Hyundai and, by extension, Kia. We've spent plenty of pixels gushing about the engine's power and efficiency when lodged in the nose of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T, and judging from our time behind the wheel of the 2013 Kia Optima 2.0T, the engine is no less at home lighting up the tires of the newest sedan from Kia.

Buyers looking for a four-door with a little more edge than the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry or even the embiggened Sonata will be happy to see that the newest interpretation of the Optima wears some seriously aggressive sheetmetal outside to go with some of the best power and fuel-efficiency in the mid-sized sedan class.

Kia says that the Optima 2.0T was built to be the Sonata's more menacing cousin, and in addition to the sedan's brawny lines and 274-horsepower four-cylinder turbo, the company's engineers folded in a firmer suspension and reworked power steering system for a more athletic driving experience. The changes may not be enough for us to call the 2011 Optima 2.0T a sport sedan, but they do serve to give the vehicle a significantly different flavor compared to the 2011 Sonata. We jumped into the driver's seat of the 2011 Kia Optima 2.0T SX to find out just what those changes meant on the road.

2011 KIA SORENTO REVIEW SPECIFICATION

Kia is setting up the streamers and the champagne is on ice. The 100,000th Sorento crossover just went home with a new owner and it marks the first U.S.-built Kia vehicle to pass that milestone.

For the past 11 months, the Sorento has been the brand's sales leader and it was only a matter of time before 100,000 of the crossovers took up residence in American driveways.

The Kia Sorento is built at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, which is located in city of West Point. It shares the facility with the Hyundai Sante Fe. KMMG has an annual capacity of 300,000 units so perhaps the 100,000th sale is just the beginning of many more Sorento sales for the United States.

2011 KIA OPTIMA REVIEW SPECIFICATION

That was quick. Kia has issued a service bulletin asking its dealers to check the operation of the accelerator pedal on all-new 2011 Optima models that are just now arriving at dealerships across the country. According to Consumer Reports, workers are to press and release the pedal 25 to 30 times to listen for noisy operation and anything that would indicate unsatisfactory pedal feel.

If either problems surface, Kia will replace the pieces under warranty free of charge. As of right now, it's unclear whether sticking pedals instigated the service bulletin or some other fault prompted the Korean automaker to issue the service bulletin.

Keep in mind that a service bulletin differs from Tips a recall in several ways; most notably, recalls are government mandated and require automakers to alert consumers. Service bulletins are voluntary and typically just go out to dealers. Since the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration isn't forcing Kia's hand, we're guessing that there isn't any danger to consumers. Models impacted by the bulletin were built between October 16th and November 24th of this year.
