PORSCHE 918 SPYDER DESIGN CONCEPT

PORSCHE 918 SPYDER

PORSCHE 918 SPYDER

Porsche has announced that the dealers around the world have begun taking orders for its 918 Spyder. Plug-in hybrid will feature 500 horsepower, the 4.0-liter V8 engine and two electric motors capable of a combined 218 horsepower. Porsche says the hybrid powertrain consumes just 3.0 liters of fuel per 100 km - about 78 miles per gallon. The German automaker has not released fuel economy estimates based on testing standards of the United States, although the numbers are EPA said to be underway. Look for gas-electric Porsche supercar for the year on U.S. soil in late 2013.

If you want one, you better drop what you're doing and get in line now. Nissan said it plans to build only 918 copies of the vehicle, and that each of them is a high price tag of $ 845,000 more than the destination and handling.

It's a lot of coins, but with an electric motor on each axle, the 918 Spyder should be able to launch 60 kmh in just 3.1 seconds. The maximum speed is 199 mph, he said, Porsche believes that in proper conditions, the 918 will be able to drive on pure electric power at speeds of up to 94 mph. Hit the jump for the press release and check the previous official documents.

Take the Ferrari and Lamborghini, two Italians, for example. Their jaws dropped a sensual body of a hundred yards, but they must also comply with the super-powerful engines, or otherwise harm consumers cry. Audi is another example. Germany is a luscious R8 was only that, but really need a V10 to be proud of. It seems that consumers simply will not tolerate an elegant body unless the performance to justify it.

But for some inexplicable reason, Aston Martin seems to have escaped the wrath. None of the models offer the most powerful engine in its class, or best performance. We do not have to tell you that Astons are not the best at something. Well, apart from seeing, smelling and feeling pretty damn sexy.

Times are changing. Customers demand more substance behind the style, more bang for the buck, and an innovative, modern technology. Seeming to concede that life is much more than a beauty contest, Aston Martin introduced a completely new Virage Virage Coupe and Volante.
